As one of the premier roofing companies in the New Orleans area, we understand your hesitancy and concerns when it comes to finding a trustworthy contractor you can trust with your business or home's exterior projects. After all, no one "wants" to repair or replace their roof. Since you are seeking information, we've put together this article that contains some of the most frequently asked questions that we are asked throughout a roof replacement project.

Frequently Asked Roofing Questions

1. Hey Revival, how much do you charge for a roof inspection and roof estimate?

Here at Revival Roofing & Restoration, we have so much confidence in our service process that we offer 100% free, no-cost roof inspections and estimates for all full roof replacement projects. You may request your free roof quote by calling our office at

(504) 446-ROOF, or by clicking here and a Revival representative will contact you.

2. Hey Revival, do I have to be home while you inspect my roof and write my free roofing estimate?
Revival Roofing is much more than a number on paper! Since many roof projects are large and require much attention-to-detail, we recommend all decision makers be present for our initial inspection and consultation, but we do not require that any one be present - as long as we have verbal permission to enter the property, we can inspect the roof and email all photos and licensing with our free roof estimate.

3. Hey Revival, how do I know when my roof needs to be replaced?
Revival Roofing recommends having your roof checked twice per year and after all major storms. Ask yourself these questions, and if you answer yes to any of them, inquire with us to determine if you need a new roof:

  • Is my roof twelve (12) to twenty-five (25) years old?

  • Is my roof leaking and/or have I had to fix any leaks in the past?

  • While standing in my yard, can I see shiny fiberglass, cracking, and/or curling on my current shingles?

  • Have I seen any missing or torn shingles around my property?

  • Has it been more than 6 or 12 months since I had a local roofing company inspect my roof?

4. Hey Revival, I know I need a new roof, but how much will it cost me?

This question is similar to asking how much a vehicle will costs. The answer varies depending on a few factors:

  • Type of materials installed

  • Square footage of roof

  • Pitch/steepness of roof

  • Height of structure

  • Accessibility to property

  • Warranty duration

Once all factors have been accounted for, we generate pricing on a price-per-square calculation. A "square" is a 10'x10' section of the roof surface (not floor plan). On average, for an architectural asphalt shingle, a roof replacement will cost $350-$450 per square. Using these numbers, an average roof of 2,000 square feet will typically cost around $7,500 to $9,000. This price includes all material and labor needed to successfully complete the project, as well as clean-up with nail magnets and haul-off of all roofing debris.

5. Hey Revival, what type of roof maintenance is recommended in Louisiana?
Most people are wrong in thinking a roof can be forgotten about for 10 or 15 years once it's installed, so this is a great question! Roofs in South Louisiana are pushed to their limits by: excessive rain, heat, wind, hail, and hurricanes. Since these elements can cause small issues which lead to much larger issues, we recommend having your roof checked at least twice per year, and after all major storms! In the event of water intrusion, these inspections will help you spot the problems early and make repairs if necessary. In addition to biannual roof inspections, we recommend keeping the roof clear of leaves and pine needles  and having your gutters cleaned once per year. Inquire with Revival Roofing & Restoration for all your roof maintenance needs!
